June Anderson McBrayer, 82, of Wilmington, NC died Sunday, August 1, 2010.

Mrs. McBrayer was a native of Vinton, VA, the daughter of the late Hayward Christian Anderson and Minnie Roberson Anderson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Harrill McBrayer, Jr. She was a registered nurse, retired from the Halifax County Health Department. Mrs. McBrayer was a member of Wrightsville United Methodist Church in Wrightsville Beach, NC.

She is survived by three sons, James Russell ''Russ'' McBrayer and his wife, Beverly, of Candler, NC, Robert Alan ''Rob'' McBrayer and his wife, Dana, of Raleigh, and Richard Anderson ''Rick'' McBrayer of Wilmington; seven grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and two brothers, Wesley Anderson and his wife, Dot, of Muchie, IN, and Roy Laughlin and his wife, Joyce, of Dallas, TX.

Askew Funeral & Cremation Services, 731 Roanoke Avenue, Roanoke Rapids, NC is handling the arrangements, where the family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 3, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Graveside funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 4, at 2:00 p.m. at Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids with Rev. P. D. Midgett officiating.
